I GOT A FREE UPGRADE – Singapore Airlines PREMIUM Economy A380 REVIEW

Anyway, shorter video than usual. Wasn’t planning to film this video but I did anyway because I got upgraded on the boarding gate, luckily enough. So it ended up being my second time trying out premium economy. It turned out to be good, although not as great as the last time I travelled premium economy.

  1. FAQ: Reason why I got upgraded. Probably a combination of:
    1. Full flight on economy class;
    2. SQ Krisflyer Gold status;
    3: Bought "economy standard" fare, as opposed to cheaper economy lite fares.

    That said I'm quite happy about the upgrade itself. If I did have to pay for it, then I would still feel okay.

  2. Premium Economy has a "Book the Cook" feature – where you can select your own meals from a special 5-6 option selection.

    For those interested to know – for premium economy departure from SG has this menu selection for
    Book the Cook:

    Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken
    Malay-style steamed coconut rice with fried chicken, omelette and grilled fish cake, served with sambal and ikan bilis with peanuts

    Roasted Chicken Rice
    Roasted five spice chicken thigh served with pandan flavoured rice and Chinese greens

    Roasted Chicken in Garlic Cream Sauce
    Chicken thigh roasted and served with creamy garlic sauce and vegetables tossed in butter

    Rosemary Beef Brisket
    Braised beef brisket with rosemary sauce, sauteed vegetable medley and mashed potatoes

    Seafood Pasta in Creamed Tomato Basil Sauce
    Mixed seafood penne in creamed tomato sauce with basil

    Spiced Chicken Nasi Biryani
    Chicken braised in Indian spices, served with biryani rice and pickled vegetables
