Does it work on Linux?
With a Modern kernel.
Since you have it, you can easy test it with Live Linux Dristro that boots from USB (Hybrid ISOs), just boot and test TRIM (command line command fstrim).
Please let us know, not all body still uses Windows (Windows 10 updates sucks, i can not have a Windows 10 connected to Internet and running in a row for more than 500 hours because Windows 10 Updates reboots the computer without my permission and that makes my live incoming radio astronomical waves rendering to trash), some of us only use Linux, where you can apply the updates when you want, not when MicroSoft wants..
That's cool and all, but I'll keep looking for Thunderbolt 3 NVME enclosure to get even faster speeds.
Question, will it work with SATA M.2 SSDs such as the WD Blue 3D NAND M.2 SSD or the Samsung 860 EVO in M.2 form factor?
If you make vids you forgot the best way to use it. As a very fast cache drive. All adobe cache could sit there. I ordered a 500gb to see if it speeds up my work and render.
But should be noted, the super fast 960pro is overkill since it goes up to 3000 but the USB can only push 1000.
(Added: I use an iMac, and opening it up to install an NVME is very hard)
setting that on the mobo that way could short you out if its not plastic.
But gen 1 speeds are 5gb/s…so it shouldnt be any slower in a gen 1 port right?
hello Vortez, I have seen your video, I want to ask you how to get data transfer speeds reaching 400MB/s using SSD XPG SX8200 Pro?
The transparent hard drive enclosures reminds me of the original transparent GameBoy days!
Waited for a long time for a review on this orico nvme ssd boxes, thanks a lot. Ordered 2 yesterday.
Looks like a harmonica 😂😂
